Nowadays, with advances in medicine and all sorts of oils and pills, it can be hard to find a medicine you trust that isn’t crazy expensive or a little bit shady. Instead of dealing with those problems, grow some herbs that are known to have great medicinal properties. Here are just a few suggestions to help you get started!
Cinnamon
Cinnamon, in responsible amounts, is actually known to lower blood sugar and help deal with cholesterol! While doses vary depending on the person, many people reported feeling better after using cinnamon as a treatment method. Make sure to buy and use water-soluble extract as it helps manage and control the amount that you ingest.
Rosemary
If you love cooked or grilled meat, then consider growing rosemary. It is known to help remove carcinogens found in cooked meat that can be dangerous in high quantities. It has also been used to stop or diminish tumors, which is another great benefit. Just marinate your meats with a little bit of rosemary and that should do the trick!
Garlic
It seems like everything can give us cancer nowadays, so it’s good to find an herb that actually helps lower cancer risk! Ginger
If you or your kids get frequent stomachaches, then this is the herb for you! Ginger is know to help decrease stomach pain and some forms of nausea. It also regulates blood flow, which is always a plus! Take ginger about 30 minutes before the stomachache inducing experience so it can works at its best!
Ginseng
People taking ginseng supplements have reportedly gotten sick less often than those who don’t. It is believed that ginseng enhances the immune system, making it easier for your body to ward off sicknesses. Ginseng also helps regulate diabetes by reducing blood sugar levels.
Lemon Balm
Not surprisingly, lemon balm is a great herb to deal with anxiety. It has a tranquilizing effect that helps people remain calm. It is also an ingredient used to treat agitation in Alzheimer’s patients because of its calming properties.
Milk Thistle

White Willow Bark also works great as a pain reliever. It has been found that its main components are very similar to that of aspirin! Use the white willow bark as directed to make it as effective as possible.
