I don’t know about you, but when I plan my flower garden I usually think in terms of color. I know what colors I want in which spots, and which colors I want right next to each other. And then, if I think a shade is missing, I’ll specifically look for a perennial that fits the color I want. Well, if your garden is in need of a some pink, we’ve got a great list of ideas for you! Here are some gorgeous perennials that will give you the pink colors you’re looking for, year after year.
1. Pink Lantana
These flowers actually start with yellow blossoms, and mature into pink. So if you love pink but are also into changing things up, give these a try in zones 3-11. They’ll even do well in hot, dry conditions and poor soil.
2. Pink Bee Balm
These deer and mildew resistant blooms will catch anyone’s eye from mid to late summer.
3. Barbara Harrington Clematis
This climbing flower boasts delicate, yet stunning blooms in zones 4-9. You may seem blooming from June through September.
4. Catherine Woodbury Daylily
In zones 3-9, you’ll enjoy these large, light pink blooms. In areas of sun to partial shade, and you’ll find they’re very easy to grow.
5. Carefree Beauty Rose
Aptly named, the Carefree Beauty looks like it hasn’t a care in the world. Easy to grow and care for in zones 4-9, with full sun and moist, well-drained soil.
6. Pink Chiffon Hibiscus
Also called Rose of Sharon, the hibiscus is resistant to deer, but butterflies love it. Get the hardy (not tropical) hibiscus for success in zones 5-8.
7. Fire Witch Garden Pinks
You don’t see these all that often, so if you want something unique, the Fire Witch is a good choice. They sport magenta flowers in springtime, and have a grass-like structure that makes them attractive even when they’re finished blooming. If you have average soil and sun, you’re in luck in zones 3-9.
8. Bleeding Heart Spectabilis
These delicate, heart-shaped blooms dangle from arched stems. This plant is heat tolerant but does like moist soil, so keep that in mind with this beauty.
9. Geranium Elke
For zones 3-8, these 2″ blooms will flower for months. In warmer zones, you’ll usually see them come back in subsequent years. Once established, they’re drought tolerant.
10. Pink Potion Spike Speedwell
Also called Veronica, this shrub-like plant features cone-shaped blooms that keep coming all summer. Cut off spent blooms regularly. Zones 6-10.
