Have you ever dreamt of having your own greenhouse? If you’re a gardener, you’ve probably at least given it some thought. And if you have a little bit of DIY skill, you can actually build it yourself. Here are several options.
1. The Upcycle
Save up your plastic bottles and you can use them to build yourself a greenhouse instead of trashing them.
2. Countertop Model
Just want to grow a few seedlings? This DIY countertop greenhouse can be finished quickly for use indoors or out, and it’ll save you space.
3. Cheap Multi-Level
You can get this greenhouse for under $25, and it holds a lot. Enough said.
4. Geometric Dome
Who wouldn’t love looking outside everyday and seeing this cool geometric structure? It’s even better when you reap the benefits of what grows inside.
5. The PVC Job
Using mainly PVC, a little wood, and plastic sheeting, you can build your own greenhouse for about $50.
6. Straw Bale Cold Frame
You don’t need any construction skills to build this cold frame out of straw bales, plastic sheets, and wood.
7. Mini CD Greenhouse
Got some old CD cases lying around? Use them to make a miniature greenhouse that goes outside on a deck or in a sunny window.
8. Window Box
This one is just what it sounds like: a box (made of wood) with an old window for a cover.
9. Covered Wagon
This one works like an old pioneer wagon, only it goes right over a garden box. Instead of canvas and wood, it’s made of plastic sheeting and PVC, and it attaches to your raised bed. When you’re done using it, just take it down.
