10 Reasons You Should Be Using Raw Honey (And Where To Buy It!)

January 12, 2017 by Kasi Smith 1 Comment

Raw honey (not commercial honey that is sold in most stores) is full of nutrients and enzymes that are great for your body. If you can, buy local honey because it contains local pollen that can help you build up an allergy resistance to it. Do some research and buy local; some places even sell through Amazon. If not, try Nature Nate’s on Amazon—they’re a good deal and you can even subscribe!

Another great thing about honey is that it never goes bad! So you can buy as much as you want and you don’t have to worry about wasting your money on something that will expire! Honey isn’t just good for your body and health, but it’s also good for your wallet!

When you do finally get your honey, make a natural hair remover by mixing 1 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup honey, and the juice from one lemon. Boil this together and apply the mixture like you would a wax strip to remove hair!

To treat acne and other similar skin blemishes, mix equal parts honey and cinnamon. Once you’ve combined them, scrub the mixture onto your face, let it sit for a bit, and then rinse it off! Repeat as necessary.

Do you have frizzy hair and absolutely hate having to deal with it? Here’s a pretty simple solution. Mix together 1 teaspoon of honey and 4 cups of water. Apply it to wet and clean hair, let it dry, and then rinse. This should help get rid of frizz and calm your hair down.

Make a great scrub for your skin and lips by combining equal parts honey, olive oil, and sugar! Just rub the mixture onto rough or dry parts of your skin and rinse. It’s such a great and natural recipe!

Another great thing about honey is that, because it has so many beneficial nutrients in it, it’s great for your health and for medicinal purposes! You can use honey to boost your immune system, help sooth heartburn, and also calm an upset stomach! There are so many great uses for it.

If you are struggling with dandruff, then try this solution. Apply raw honey to your damp hair and leave it in there for three hours. After that, gently shampoo your hair, rinse it, and that should help reduce your dandruff.

I love massages, so I’m so happy that raw honey can be used to make a fantastic and natural massage oil! Just mix two tablespoons of honey with 1 cup of carrier oil (or your preferred oil).

For a soothing and calming bath, add 3 tablespoons of honey to your bath water. The nutrients will absorb into your skin, helping you feel healthy, fresh, and relaxed!
