  • One of the best looks for your front porch is a simple symmetrical one. Get the same pots, flowers, and other items for your porch and then use the door as the divider. Simple and very classy.
  • Use pots that look ancient and antique. It will add some style and dimension to your home without you having to make any changes to the actual home.
  • Take terracotta flower pots and stack them on top of each other. Put flowers in each one, making a fun and delightful arrangement!
  • You can also go for hanging flower pots to make your front porch look even better! Mix all sorts of hanging pots and standing pots for a fun and unique look.
  • I love pedestals with flower pots on them. It just looks powerful and very sophisticated. The whole pedestal can be the flower pot, or you can just stick a flower pot on the top of the pedestal.

  • Put sculpted trees by the door.  Get mini ones that you can put into flower pots. This will make your home look, neat, manicured, and organized without your guests even stepping inside!
  • Get colorful pots that add a splash of color to your front porch. This is better than painting the door or the whole house, since it’s something that can easily be changed.
  • Put potted plants on each step up to your front porch and door. It looks best if the pots and flowers are similar, but you can decorate it however you want!
  • Combine rustic baskets and pots for a nice vintage combination. They provide good asymmetry with one another, keeping the design different but the theme the same.
  • You can also combine together shrubs and flowers in flower pots. The contrast between the bright colors of the flowers and the greens of the shrubbery will look great.

  • Use the same pots but different sizes of plants to get a great effect on your doorstep. If possible, use plants that are the same color so the only difference is the size, but you can do whatever you want.
  • I love the idea of getting pots that match the color of your home. This makes the plants inside the pot pop so much better and they’ll really stand out.
  • You can also match the color of the pots to the color of the door. Not only does it help add to the order and symmetry of the front porch, but it also makes the plants pop out.
  • Use small plants and small pots to contrast with big columns and pillars that you may have near your entrance. The great thing about creating this contrast is that it makes your home and entrance look bigger.
  • Add flowers and plants of multiple different colors to the flower pots. It gives your home a nice, colorful look while still adding texture, style, and a bit of nature.

  • Use plants with large leaves and put them in large flower pots. This is a simple but very elegant look that will make your home seem organized and very calm.
  • Combine seating on your front porch with flower pots and other plants. Put the pots next to benches or chairs to give a great resting area.
  • You can also make the seating the flower pots. Add a pot into the seat of a chair or hang plants from the side of a bench. Just be creative and have fun!
  • Make sure you pay attention to the season and what kind of plants grow best and what colors look nice. Plant red, orange, and yellow plants for fall, for example. This helps your help look really nice.

  • Contrast the color of the flower pots, the front door, and/or the flowers that you plant. You can choose two of the three or all three, but contrasting colors look great and really make your home stand out.
  • Use cement pots on your front porch. You can actually make your own, or just buy them, whatever you like best. Cement pots are a nice and modern flower pot you can use.
  • Turn an old birdbath into a great looking flower pot for your front porch. Not only does it look nice, but you can also attract birds using it!
  • Combine your flower pots and plants with any climbing plants that may be on your front porch. Ivy, for example, can pair really well with potted plants.

  • Utilize vertical space in your flower pots. This looks best by putting some sort of ground plant in the pot and then a tree with a bushy head.
  • Use pots and plants that allow you to put flags and other seasonal décor in them. It’s a super easy way to decorate your home for holidays without having to do a lot of extra work.
  • Use metal cans for your home. The modern look of the metal contrasts really nicely with the greens and other colors of nature in the pot.
  • You could also upcycle old watering cans and use those as flower pots. Just stick them on your front porch, fill them with colorful flowers, and you’re good!
  • I love the look of wooden barrels as flower pots. They’re just so classy and really help bring the home and front porch together.

  • Paint some terracotta pots and use those as flower pots on your front porch. Add some cute designs and styles to the pots to make them look great!
  • Use an old ladder for a nice rustic addition to your front porch. You can either put the plants directly in the spot of the rungs or put small planters on each rung. Whatever works best!
  • Rectangular flower pots are both really common and really nice. They come in all sorts of different materials, so you don’t have to worry about that. Just make sure you match the right plants for whatever kind of rectangular flower you use!

    I think sculpted mini trees look very, very nice, but that last idea was so unique and cute.
