The look of a modern landscape is so clean-lined and inviting, it’s no wonder it is gaining in popularity. Do you want your yard to have a modern landscape? There are some modern landscape essentials you need to know about first. These essentials are things that routinely show up in modern landscapes, and if you desire a classic modern landscape, you should make sure you include them. Stick around while I show you what they are.
Modern Landscape Essentials
The spaces of a modern landscape are nothing if not very clearly defined! In the picture above, you can see just how clearly defined the spaces of this modern landscape are. It is obvious where to find the sitting area, the pool area, and the walkways. And not only are these areas clearly defined, they have lovely, flowing shapes. So even though modern landscape essentials include a sort of rigidity, they are also serene.
A modern landscape is the perfect place to use amazing artistic features you might not find otherwise, such as metal planters or cascading rock fountains. The artistic features of a modern landscape prove that modern doesn’t have to mean sterile.
The plants in a modern landscape are what bring softness to the overall feel. So don’t be afraid to use plants that stand out. They might stand out for their color, their size, or their blooms, but whatever it is capitalize on it. Bright green plants lend life to cement walls and metal planters.
A seating area is a must in any garden, but in a modern landscape you need modern seating options. Clean lines and bright colors make a bold statement worthy of a modern landscape. They also provide a restful spot for you and your guests to relax and enjoy all of your modern landscape essentials!
Paved or gravel paths
Be sure to include a curved, paved or gravel path through your modern landscape. It really helps make the most of the space by drawing the eye through to admire all the interesting elements. Pave the path in a modern landscape with anything from cement pavers to gravel–it just depends on your personal preference.
